April 2025 Letter

Dear brethren,

Last month, we discussed some of the prophecies of Isaiah the Prophet about Christ. This month, we will discuss the prophecies of the Prophet Jeremiah.

The Prophet Jeremiah was born in 646 BC. The Lord called him to carry out the prophetic work in 626 BC, while he was still a young man. He prophesied for 40 years during a very critical period in Israel’s history. Among his most important prophecies concerning Jesus Christ and the New Testament are:

  • Christ is the Lord: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness” (Jer 23:5-6).
  • The birth of Christ from the lineage of David: “In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth” (Jer 33: 15).
  • Slaughtering the children of Bethlehem: “Thus says the Lord: A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more” (Jer 31: 15).
  • The Ark of Covenant is no more: “Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days, says the Lord, that they will say no more, `The ark of the covenant of the Lord.’ It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore” (Jer 3: 16).
  • Christ bears the shame of humanity: “O Lord, You know; Remember me and visit me, And take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In Your enduring patience, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke” (Jer 15: 15).
  • Christ is the Good Shepherd: “Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say, `He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock” (Jer 31: 10).
  • Christ is the hope and savior of the Church: “O the Hope of Israel, his Savior in time of trouble, Why should You be like a stranger in the land, And like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night?” (Jer14: 8).
  • Christ is the potter who shapes our nature (clay) with His Divine Hand: “O the Hope of Israel, his Savior in time of trouble, Why should You be like a stranger in the land, And like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night” (Jer 18: 6).
  • Christ is the Branch of Righteousness. The title Branch is one of the Messianic titles: “the days are coming, says the Lord, That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth” (Jer 23: 5).

إخوتنا الأحباء
الشهر الماضي ذكرنا بعض نبوات أشعياء النبي عن السيد المسيح، وهذا الشهر نتكلم عن نبوات إرميا النبي.
ولد إرميا النبي عام 646 ق.م.، ودعاه الرب للقيام بالعمل النبوي في سنة 626 ق.م وهو مازال شابًا، وقد تنبأ لمدة 40 سنة في فترة حرجة جدًا في تاريخ إسرائيل. ومن أهم نبواته الخاصة بالسيد المسيح والعهد الجديد:
1) أن المسيح هو الرب: “هَا أَيَّامٌ تَأْتِي يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ وَأُقِيمُ لِدَاوُدَ غُصْنَ بِرٍّ فَيَمْلِكُ مَلِكٌ وَيَنْجَحُ وَيُجْرِي حَقّاً وَعَدْلاً فِي الأَرْضِ. فِي أَيَّامِهِ يُخَلَّصُ يَهُوذَا وَيَسْكُنُ إِسْرَائِيلُ آمِناً وَهَذَا هُوَ اسْمُهُ الَّذِي يَدْعُونَهُ بِهِ: الرَّبُّ بِرُّنَا” (إر23: 5-6).
2) ميلاد المسيح من نسل داود: “فِي تِلْكَ الأَيَّامِ وَفِي ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ أُنْبِتُ لِدَاوُدَ غُصْنَ الْبِرِّ فَيُجْرِي عَدْلاً وَبِرّاً فِي الأَرْضِ” (إر33: 15).
3) قتل أطفال بيت لحم: “صَوْتٌ سُمِعَ فِي الرَّامَةِ نَوْحٌ بُكَاءٌ مُرٌّ. رَاحِيلُ تَبْكِي عَلَى أَوْلاَدِهَا وَتَأْبَى أَنْ تَتَعَزَّى عَنْ أَوْلاَدِهَا لأَنَّهُمْ لَيْسُوا بِمَوْجُودِينَ” (إر31: 15).
4) قيام عهد جديد بدلاً من القديم: “هَا أَيَّامٌ تَأْتِي يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ وَأَقْطَعُ مَعَ بَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَمَعَ بَيْتِ يَهُوذَا عَهْداً جَدِيداً. لَيْسَ كَالْعَهْدِ الَّذِي قَطَعْتُهُ مَعَ آبَائِهِمْ يَوْمَ أَمْسَكْتُهُمْ بِيَدِهِمْ لأُخْرِجَهُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ حِينَ نَقَضُوا عَهْدِي فَرَفَضْتُهُمْ يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ. بَلْ هَذَا هُوَ الْعَهْدُ الَّذِي أَقْطَعُهُ مَعَ بَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ بَعْدَ تِلْكَ الأَيَّامِ يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ: أَجْعَلُ شَرِيعَتِي فِي دَاخِلِهِمْ وَأَكْتُبُهَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَأَكُونُ لَهُمْ إِلَهاً وَهُمْ يَكُونُونَ لِي شَعْباً” (إر31: 31-33).
5) إلغاء تابوت العهد: “فِي تِلْكَ الأَيَّامِ يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ أَنَّهُمْ لاَ يَقُولُونَ بَعْدُ: تَابُوتَ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ وَلاَ يَخْطُرُ عَلَى بَالٍ وَلاَ يَذْكُرُونَهُ وَلاَ يَتَعَهَّدُونَهُ وَلاَ يُصْنَعُ بَعْدُ” (إر3: 16).
6) المسيح يحمل عار البشرية: “أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ عَرَفْتَ. اذْكُرْنِي وَتَعَهَّدْنِي وَانْتَقِمْ لِي مِنْ مُضْطَهِدِيَّ. بِطُولِ أَنَاتِكَ لاَ تَأْخُذْنِي. اعْرِفِ احْتِمَالِي الْعَارَ لأَجْلِكَ” (إر15: 15).
7) المسيح هو الراعي الصالح: “اِسْمَعُوا كَلِمَةَ الرَّبِّ أَيُّهَا الأُمَمُ وَأَخْبِرُوا فِي الْجَزَائِرِ الْبَعِيدَةِ وَقُولُوا: [مُبَدِّدُ إِسْرَائِيلَ يَجْمَعُهُ وَيَحْرُسُهُ كَرَاعٍ قَطِيعَهُ]” (إر31: 10).
8) المسيح هو رجاء الكنيسة ومخلصها: “يَا رَجَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ مُخَلِّصَهُ فِي زَمَانِ الضِّيقِ لِمَاذَا تَكُونُ كَغَرِيبٍ فِي الأَرْضِ وَكَمُسَافِرٍ يَمِيلُ لِيَبِيتَ؟” (إر14: 8).
9) المسيح هو الفخاري الذي ُيشكل طبيعتنا (الطين) بيده الإلهية: “أَمَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَصْنَعَ بِكُمْ كَهَذَا الْفَخَّارِيِّ يَا بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ؟ هُوَذَا كَالطِّينِ بِيَدِ الْفَخَّارِيِّ أَنْتُمْ هَكَذَا بِيَدِي يَا بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ” (إر18: 6).
10) المسيح هو غصن البر. ولقب غصن هو أحد الألقاب المسيانية: “هَا أَيَّامٌ تَأْتِي يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ وَأُقِيمُ لِدَاوُدَ غُصْنَ بِرٍّ فَيَمْلِكُ مَلِكٌ وَيَنْجَحُ وَيُجْرِي حَقّاً وَعَدْلاً فِي الأَرْضِ” (إر23: 5).
